It's all black and white

Namaste.  The first post's theme is black and white.  The photos were taken with at least four cameras from 2001-2015.  Most of the images were originally black and white.  Those with a few whispers of color here and there were converted in photoshop.

The name of this blog is Samjhana Mero Atma, which in Nepalese means Remember my soul, or spirit.

I hope you'll enjoy the images here on this first posting of the new blog.  In the next four months or so the plan is to categorize the thousands of images I have and select the best ones and put them into a thematic 'rememory' of all I have been fortunate to witness.

Themes, I have to admit, are the hardest thing to do with so many images.  Should I do it by country, most of my images are from my travels, or should I do it the conventional way;  people, nature and so forth, we shall see.

I am not by any means good at keeping things in any reasonable order, so this may take time. Meanwhile, enjoy.

  1. John, just reading about the name of the blog while going through your teshidalak gave me a clue that this would be a funny kind of blog. I had just focused on the word "samjhana" and left "mero atma". Once I have visited this and read your prologue type I feel this serious. I am completely mesmerized by the pictures that you have uploaded. Seem to be really great.
I just have no words for praising this; gives me an instinct that you are going to make you book great. (But you should be thinking there are people outside; not just writing for you). Ya, great.
And I regret for my misconception.

    1. Hi Suman, I am glad to read you found my images 'mesmerizing' your astute opinion is always an interesting yarn of the conceptual and misconceptions which of course occur more frequently in our tiny two dimensional connection with the world, eh? and who is writing for me? oh, my students, yes they write to me, I call it homework.
